What is sanctioning?
Skateboarding Victoria (SV) sanctioning is the official approval of a service provider’s credibility under the diligent screening criteria of the SV.
Service providers, who are sanctioned by SV, are acknowledged as holding a pedigree of professionalism.
Because the SV is the only state government funded skateboarding association in Australia, the SV sanction holds significant weighting in the eyes of councils, schools and the private sector.
Sanctioning is not insurance.
Being sanctioned under the SV, doesn’t mean you are covered by the SV’s insurance.
SV is not a event provider.
It is an association of…..

- passionate individuals
Who have their own unique methods of facilitating events, with necessary insurance to match their event requirements.
How do I achieve SV sanctioning?
To be sanctioned by the SV and listed as a service provider under the SV’s umbrella, you need to
email info@skateboardingvictoria.org.au
the following information…
1. Victoria Police Check certificate
2. Working with Children Check certificate
3. A copy of your public liability & professional indemnity insurance.
If you do not have insurance, PSC Insurance brokers are commonly used as insurance brokers for skateboarding events.
Once we have received these documents:
You will be sent the a ‘Recognition of Prior Learning / Qualification’ document.
To demonstrate experience & competence facilitating skateboarding events.
Once Validated
You will be required to:
- Attend monthly board meetings, meeting the SV board face to face.
- Obtain a ID check
- Have a informal conversation to get a a better idea of your ambitions & how SV can help you acheive them.
- Discuss how you can contribute to the SV’s objectives of growing the Victorian skateboarding scene & its mission.
