Regional Club Development & Support
Regional communities rarely lack passion for skateboarding. The greater challenge is providing local leaders with the support, structures and practical tools needed to turn that passion into lasting opportunities.
The Strengthening Regional Skateboarding Communities Program builds the foundations for locally led, professionally supported skate clubs across regional Victoria. Working with councils, schools and community organisations, Skateboarding Victoria helps communities establish local leadership, develop sound governance and deliver consistent programs that can continue beyond a single project or funding cycle.
About the program
Regional skate clubs and associations are community-led groups that bring skaters, parents, volunteers and local stakeholders together to support grassroots skateboarding. They provide structure, belonging and a strong local voice in a sport that has traditionally been informal and self-organised. When supported, these clubs can become catalysts for community wellbeing, engagement and local economic activity.
