The North Western Series got into gear with its opening heat at the Wallan Skatepark on Saturday. Wallan is such a unique park with a true mixture of obstacles for all styles of riders.
The skate division was a mixture of past entrants and fresh faces. It was great to see Luke Ascenzo back killing it and snatching second place in the 12 and Unders closely followed by Josh Yates who has been progressing like a possessed skate monster as of late! First however went to Bailey Jackson with a style that was text book on the quarter pipes.
Jacob De-Leo always puts a show for the crowd in the 16 and Unders and Wallan was no different. Taking away a stack of prizes for his first placing and also efforts on the wallride of death. Check it out in the pics below!
The opens was one the tightest battles I have seen in a long time with close friends Ash Cochrane and Josh Hodge egging each other on with every trick. Josh snuck in on the win this time but I am sure we are going to see these two pushing each other even more as we move through the series!
We head to Epping Skate Escape on October 4 in a fortnight.
