Victoria has a great scene for adults that want to get back on board, make new friends, and reconnect with something that is guaranteed to make you grin!
In Melbourne, most Tuesday and Wednesday nights groups of skateboarders aged from 25 – 65 meet at their favorite skate parks, and light them up with generators and flood lights for fun sessions, without the “skate park traffic anxiety” caused by kids, scooters, or BMXers, and for a couple of hours, be just like the kids that they once were.
Newport at Night
Everyone is welcome, and if you are starting back after a long break there will be plenty of advice on how to stay safe, loan boards and help to get your skate legs back again, and advice and connections so you can get the board that is right for you without being ripped-off.
The President of VSA still actively skateboards(almost) at night, and can recommend it as a great way to stay fit, and forget about the day to day hassles and reconnect with what always made you grin.

Via VSA’s extensive connections we can usually help you to get in touch with adult skateboarders Australia wide. We also have connections to skateboarders who have returned to the sport after many years, or after serious injury, illness, depression, and the odd hip replacement, who can inspire you, and prove to you that you can still have fun, growing up is optional, and most importantly, no one can tell you that you are too old to skate!
If the links above are not enough, drop a note to info@skateboardingvictoria.org.au and we can help you to find out more!
