SANCTIONING
What is sanctioning?
Victorian Skateboarding Association (VSA) sanctioning is the official approval of a Service Provider’s credibility under the diligent screening criteria of the VSA. Service Providers who are sanctioned by the VSA are acknowledged as holding a pedigree of professionalism, and as the VSA is the only State Government funded skateboarding association in Australia, the VSA sanction holds significant weighting in the eyes of Councils, Schools and the Private sector.
Sanctioning is not insurance.
Being sanctioned under the VSA doesn’t mean you are covered by the VSA’s insurance. VSA is not a Event Provider; it is an association of Event Providers and passionate individuals who have their own unique flavors of facilitating events with insurance to match the event requirements.
How do I achieve VSA sanctioning?
To be Sanctioned by the VSA and listed as a Service Provider under the VSA’s umbrella, you need to email info@skateboardingvictoria.org.au the following information…
1. Victoria Police Check certificate
2. Working with Children Check certificate
3. Copy of your Public Liability & Professional Indemnity insurance. If you do not have insurance, PSC McKenna Hampton are commonly used as insurance brokers for skateboarding events.
After we have received these documents you will be sent a ‘Recognition of Prior Learning / Qualification’ document to demonstrate experience / competence facilitating skateboarding events.
Once these documents are validated, it is required you attend one of our monthly Board meetings to meet the VSA Board face-to-face for an ID check, as well as informal conversation to get a better idea of what you want to achieve and how we can help you achieve these objectives which also contribute to the VSA’s objectives of growing the Victorian skateboarding scene.
