The Folklore Australia Day comp saw a stack of skaters fight it out for $2500 worth of cash and prizes on the weekend!
The ladies from the VSA whipped up a bonza of a BBQ for the crowd to enjoy while they got to see some ridiculous skating take place at Riverside Skatepark.
The Game of Skate was first up and was taken out by European Duncan McNaughton. His fakie hardflips and nollie shuvit flips proved to be the secret to winning.
Highest ollie was propped up to 38 inches with Jamie Keating using his long legs to his advantage to take home the cash.
Pat Gemzik showed absolute insanity in the longest ollie comp hucking himself over the 5m kicker to kicker gap to earn the well deserved cash.
Up next was the unsponno best trick comps. Sean Conolloy grabbed $100 with a perfect 360 over the kicker to kicker gap while Jayden Bauer dialed in a kicky to k grind on the bump to ledge earning $100.
With $250 up for grabs on the big hip the sponno boys busted out the tech wizardry. Tim B got a mean switch tre, Jeffers went big with a benihanna but Sam Owbridge took the cash with a perfect popped bigger flip.
The last $250 for the day was on the big rail, hubba and gap. Leigh Takamoto hit the rail with a lipslide and smith before ending his session with a tailslide to fakie on the hubba. Pat Gemzik and Will Hine busted out a ton of tricks on the rail but Mitch Robertom (after snapping a board early on and putting a new deck on mid session) shut the comp down with a 180 over the hubba to flat, bs blunt on the hubba and then finally a fs flip over the hubba to flat!
Thanks to Folklore, Modus, Picture wheels, Active Melbourne and Riverside Skatepark for the event!
