A cold and windy day didn’t stop the serious shredding of the Warragul skatepark.
After a couple of snags it was time for the under 12 skaters to show their stuff and the fellas didn’t disappoint. Johnny Hill came in third place with his laid-back surf style. While Heath ‘the wrangler’ Wrangles whipped up a storm in the bowl with some delicious transfers and grinds to come second. Jake Pucar came out to put on a show and claimed first. Jake was unreal with epic indybone airs over the hip into the deep bowl and clinical 5-0 grinds which looked like they would never end.
The under 16’s had the park erupting with first place getter Jack Duff doing the unthinkable and ollieing over the funky hip from the top of the vert quarter, it was a nail biting moment. Kalani Vozzo came close behind shredding the bowl doing a front tail frontside revert summoning his inner Geoff Rowley. Max Wrangles followed up a tight third with the smooth steeze that clearly runs in the family as he nailed a few very nice frontside disasters.
The opens didn’t hold back either with locals Jamie and Justin showing their knowledge of their park. Jamie Alberti came in third with some ridiculous finishing shuv-it grab trick out of the deep bowl to flat. Rad Dad Craig Mitchell blew the judges away coming second while looking way to comfortable getting heaps of air in the deep bowl and throwing down a nice nose stall revert. Local shredder Justin Brebner finished of the day with awesome frontside carves in all sections of the bowl and the vert quarter to take the first place.
