We were lucky enough to get to have our final heat/ grand final of the BSWS at the newly renovated Hamilton Skate Park. The new design of the park is incredible. Hats off to everyone involved in the long process of getting it re-built. The hard work paid off.
It has been a long time inbetween comps for the locals out that way so it was fantastic to see them show up in throngs to rep their local. The usual BSWS suspects also made the journey down to check out the new park and try and win the overall series.
The girls division was dominated by Colleen Hughson. She was throwing out rock and rolls on everything in sight. Jenna Iddon continued her killing streak by taking out second place and the overall series win. Young Maddie Allardyce grabbed third in he first skate comp and had the crowd getting behind her.
Jake McDonough and Kostya Vallance took first and second place in the heat and this was reflected in the very same standings for the overall series. These two kids are both stylish shredders and will be the future of rad shredders coming out of the Barwon area. Keep you eye out for these two relevant skaters.
16 and unders turned into a slaughter fest with two of the most exciting skaters in our leagues, Simon Dunn and Johnno Halchenko, shredding every part of the park. They both do it with such style and speed. So rad to watch. Congrats to Simon on taking out the overall series.
The day ended with the open males. It was so sick to end the series on a banger note with Brad Saunders putting on a rail demo as he does so consistently every week and local style lord Alex Moreland killing the park with ease.
Thanks to everyone who supported the series all season and made it down. Hopefully we can make it even bigger and better next year.
